A serial writer’s notebook ~ from the pen behind Lore of the Underlings, an episodic epic…
This morning I discovered a tiny typographical error in one of my previously published Lore episodes. It wasn’t much of anything — a misplaced apostrophe — but I was momentarily horrified.
Then I remembered the old tale of Persian rug weavers who intentionally included a flaw in their work as a token of humility before their maker. True, my mistake was not on purpose, but I still took comfort in that groundedness.
And here’s the beautiful part about it…
Being human is good enough. And imperfection makes us tick. We’d be machines or gods without it.
Doesn’t sound like fun to me.
No, I’d guess that our destiny is a rendezvous with humanity.

You nailed it -“Our destiny is a rendezvous with humanity”. This puts all our everyday concerns into perspective.
Thanks!
