A serial writer’s notebook ~ from the pen behind Lore of the Underlings, an episodic epic…
Yesterday, while working on my next episode of the Lore, I needed a little anger imagery to depict a character’s fury. The ginger-haired petty potentate named Fyryx Hurx, scion of a long bloodline of leaders, was on the verge of bursting with rage.
As usual I went back to nature and tapped the power of the sun. Here’s what I came up with:
The red son of Hurx was about to explode. A matter of time till he’d go supernova.
Then I remembered the photos I shot this summer of sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, east as can be on the coast of Maine. More solar poetry for this Sunday.

The writing is clever (as always) and your photography is breathtaking.
I guess I was so breathless I lost the last word!!
Oh my! Maybe my blog should come with a Surgeon General’s warning… May be hazardous to your health!
